Roll Cake

Make this fun cake for your next event. Decorate and fill it however you’d like. The fresh fruits in the middle are a refreshing bite with the whipped cream in the middle of the spongy cake.

Prep Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 15 mins
Yields: 16 servings
Drawing Paste:
2 tblsp butter
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 egg white
3 1/2 tblsp flour
Food coloring 
Sponge Cake:
3 large eggs 
2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 tblsp oil
2/3 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
Whipped Cream Filling:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla 
Sliced strawberries
Drawing Paste:
-Mix butter and sugar. Add egg white and mix again.Add food coloring. Add flour and mix
-Pipe design onto a greased pan lined with greased parchment paper
-Refrigerate for 15 mins.
-Mix egg and sugar until pale and fluffy
-Mix in oil and vanilla
-Sift in dry ingredients and fold it in
-Pour over the design and bake at 350° for 15 mins
-Dust with powder sugar and flip onto another surface
-Remove parchment paper from back of cake and gently place it over it again
-Flip once more 
-Roll the cake with the parchment paper under it
-Let it rest while you make the filling 
-Whip whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form
-Unroll the cake and spread the filling inside
-Place the strawberries in a row
-Roll cake once more and refrigerate
-Cut and serve
